Fox News host Greg Gutfeld says mother-in-law safe after fleeing Ukraine

Fox News star Greg Gutfiled is an acquired taste for some, a fan favorite for others, and a straight -up “No” for the rest. Greg is aware of his reputation and persona, openly stating he’s been an obnoxious jerk to some people – which makes this moment all the better.

Gutfield surprised the audience on The Five yesterday when he revealed his mother-in law was stranded in Ukraine.

Yesterday, he announced she’s made it to Poland, where she’s been reunited with her daughter.

“Well thank you, Lucas, you’re in Lviv, so is my mother-in-law,” is what Gutfield responded during a segment with on-site reporter Lucas Tomlinson. It turned out that Tolinson was in a hotel just across the street from Gutfueld’s mother-in-law.

The town of Lviv is about 43 miles from Poland’s border. According to Gutfield, some of his “unbelievably awesome” Fox News co-workers played key roles in helping his mother-in-law escape during the Russian onslaught.

“I do want to point out our co-workers are unbelievably awesome, because the things that they have been doing for a grouchy, cynical bastard like myself,” Gutfeld said.

“People have been helping me, and somebody who has been obnoxious to them before and will probably be obnoxious after.” Gutfeld continued, calling people “absolute heroes helping out a little old lady they just met.”

Yesterday, Gutfield announced his mother-in-law is safe in Poland. “She’s in a car on her way to Warsaw to see her daughter Elena,” Gutfeld said.

According to a United Nations report, more than 1 million Ukrainians abandoned their homes in the face of the Russian attack.
