Former Bachelor Carries on Tradition of Supporting Children of Fallen Military Members

Andrew Baldwin may not have lived happily ever after with the woman who stole his heart on the popular show, The Bachelor, but he’s still in love with his true calling – service.

Dr. Andy Baldwin has been serving his country for decades now. 

He is Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, a Physician, Humanitarian, and Navy Diver. He is also an accomplished athlete who is committed to helping others lead healthy lives. Much of his career has focused on humanitarian work. 

Baldwin’s call to serve others has led him around the globe, on a mission to extend his medical expertise and humanitarian support to people in desperate need of such. He’s received numerous awards and honors as a result of his deduction to serving others, but “Andy,” as he is known to friends and family, would pour just as much of himself into his work without that spotlight. 

Baldwin has worked with the elite in his fields. He has traveled to remote areas and sat with people the world has forgotten, or never knew about. But wherever he is called to serve, he brings his heart and energy with him. One of the most special callings he has is supporting children of fallen service members.

Having seen the devastation caused by the death of a parent in service, Baldwin felt a new call to serve. He began an organization called the Got Your Back Network, to offer support to the children and families of fallen service members. One focus of that support is providing college scholarships. 

Like everything he does, Andy goes all in to gain the financial support that allows him to contribute to the families. Each birthday, he runs his age in miles as one way to raise funds. This year was no exception.

Andy and a team of dedicated athletes pounded out 44 miles to raise money for his organization. Their efforts raised over $10,000. This money is now being made available to college students whose parent was killed in service. 

Andy and his father, Roy, who is actively involved in the Got Your Back Network and equally dedicated to the families served, are hoping to spread the word about these scholarships and other support offered. Information is available on the organization’s website and inquiries can be made here .
