I felt like when God was handing out purpose and dreams, he skipped over me. He struggled to find something to move forward to, worried he would never figure his path out. Then he discovered the Marine Corps ROTC in high school, and his path was clear: Ira knew he was meant to be a Marine.
“Everything clicked,” he said. “I was home.”
He was all in. Eight years later, he achieved his goal of becoming a Drill Instructor. He thought this is what he was meant to do.
But just two years into his Drill Instructor duties, the Marine Corps had enough of his overzealousness, and Ira found himself on a path back to civilian life.
In this episode of American Snippets, Ira Davis opens up about his time in the Marines. He explains how his passion took years to properly harness, and how one of the most devastating moments in his life led him to step into his true purpose.
You won’t believe what the Marine Corps asked of Ira, even as they ended his dream, and what Ira’s response was. You will be moved and inspired by the work Ira does now, and you will celebrate his spirit simply because his energy makes it impossible to do anything else.
Ira is ready and waiting to work with you, to help you dive into your own dreams -literally. Part of his unique program involves jumping out of a perfectly good plane! Make sure you follow up with Ira, and let him know you heard his story on American Snippets!
